   EmC - anti-Spam and anti-virus of email for (Win/95/98/ME/2000/NT/XP) -   Download

 

  Install
  Download the file setupemc.exe and run it.
  The EmC will be installed in the tray icon bar near to the windows clock.
   
  Startup
  Double-click in the EmC icon to enter in the Main EmC window.
   
  Setup
  Fisrt setup your email accounts POP/POP3. To do this follow the instructions at setup email accounts
  After setup the email accounts you must setup the sentinel time. To do this follow the step at setup sentinel
   
  Sentinel
  The sentinel is a function that read time by time all messages in your accounts.
   
  Warning
  Do not run your email program(outlook, eudora and etc...) before run the EmC.
   
  Runing EmC
 
To access EmC rigth click in the icon Icone and select options:

  Inbox:Access the Main EmC Window
   
  Close: Close all EmC Windows.
   
  Setup: Access the setup EmC window.
   
  Email accounts: Insert, Edit and delete email accounts
   
  My Friends: Insert, Edit and delete My Friends email addresses.
   
  Filters: Access the filters to the messages(construct all filters).
   
  Black List: Insert, Edit and Delete email adressing to the spammers senders list(Black List). WARNING! The EmC delete all messages that senders is in that list.
   
  Sentinel Deactivate: Enable and disable the sentinel function.
   
  Exit: Close the EmC programa.
   
  Warnings
  The EmC run only with POP/POP3 accounts. The EmC cannot access WebMail accounts.
   



    Main screen

    Inbox: All read messages by EmC are shown in strings as in figure above. Each string corresponds to a message of an account. If the string is yellow indicates that the message was barred by the filters and box "Delete" will be marked automatically. The Gray " string " indicates selected messages and the " blue " string the deleted messages.

    Clicking with the right button of mouse in the selected string, the EmC will present the menu of functions to the selected message:

    Show marks reason It shows the header of the message with the ratios of being barred by the filters.
    Show message body It shows the message body , its attachments and the reasons of the filtering process, in "Body Browser ".
    Show message header It shows the header of the message with the reasons of the filtering process.
    Add selected sender to my favorites It adds in the list of the favourites the sender email address.
    Add selected subject to the filter It adds in the filter the subject of the selected message.
    Add selected subject to my favourites It adds the selected subject to the favourites senders.
    Show the frequency of the words in the selected subjects All messages in the yellow colour are selected messages. Thus, the EmC makes a reading of all subjects of the selected messages indicating the amount of words in the subjects. The resultant screen of this tally is shown so that you can choose which words must be added to the filter of subjects.
    Add selected sender to my black list It adds the selected sender address in " My Black List". All messages whose sender is in the Black List will be deleted directly in the server, without backup possibility.
    Add all selected sender in my Black List This function allows that to EmC writes in the Black List all the selected sender (in the yellow colour). The addresses that have numbers before the @ will be taken for the Black List. This because spammers constantly changes their addresses of post office. Important to stand out that the messages will be deleted automatically from the server always that senders addresses are in the Black List. You do not have as to recoup them.
    Deselect all messages It takes away mark of all messages preventing them to be deleted.
    Select all messages It marks all messages to be deleted except if the sender is in favorite list.
    Whois(domain) It shows all the existing information in the data base of registered domains.

     

    Deleted messages: Clicking in the icon of the trash the EmC will list the messages that had been deleted as it shows the following figure:

    The EmC only sends message to the sender of marked messages, box "Send " enabled. Clicking with the right button of mouse in any string, the EmC will present the menu so you can access the screen sending messages,shown in the figure:

    You can send 3 standards messages; to know:

    1.Send message informing that your email does not exist
    2.Send message informing to remove your email of sender list
    3.Send message with free text.

    To send email you need to configure the SMTP server in the "Setup" option of EmC menu.

    Filters : Clicking in the icon you will have access to filters setup screen.

    Mail Accounts: Clicking in the icon you will have access to email accounts setup screen.

    Black List : Clicking in the icon you will have access to the black list.

    Favourites: Clicking in the icon you will have access to the favourites sender.

    Setup: Clicking in the option of the menu of the EmC you will have access to EmC setup screen.

    Chart: Clicking in the icon you will have access to the statistics.

    Messages : Clicking in the icon you will have access to the screen of the EmC recorded messages.

     

    The yellow colour in the screens indicates acknowledgments and the blue color indicates that the message was deleted.

    In the filters, the yellow colour informs and to prepares to delete. The blue color indicates that the message will be deleted directly in the server without backup possibility.

    Recommendations and warnings

    The EmC may not be executed if any email program is in execution. The EmC is an independent program that must be executed before the execution of any email program. The objective is that you execute the EmC, delete the unsolicited messages and thereafter execute your email program receiving only the messages that had remained in the account.

    In this version, users of the HOTMAIL© will be able to access their accounts through the EmC.However the filters and the deletions will not be executed directly by the EmC since the HOTMAIL© is not a POP account but a webmail. Remember that the EmC only operates with POP accounts.

    Some ISPs delete the messages soon after its reading. To solve this problem the EmC allows that you define which accounts are only for headers reading (the EmC will not make the reading of messages in this account,it will only read the headers). Moreover, all the read messages are stored in the Text format or HTML in ATTACHMENTS folder under the directory where the EmC was installed.

    Dial-UP users for 2000 Windows or NT need to be connected before executing the EmC.

    The EmC does not remove virus it only, through virus phrase filter, indicates the possibility of a message or attachements to be bad, not allowing the reading of it and preventing the contamination of your PC. This is the objective. We recommend that the user keeps in its equipment anti-virus products. The EmC operates without no conflict with anti-virus software.

    The EmC only sends messages to senders of the deleted messages. For being a product anti-Spam it is not possible to send messages without being to the sender of the excluded messages. The sending messages screen will be available only when a message will be extinguished in the server.
